What information is required when adding a new bank account?
When adding a new bank account please have the following information and documents available.
- Account Name
- Account Holder Address
- Bank Name
- Bank Address (including country)
- SWIFT or BIC Code
- Bank Account number or IBAN
- Bank Statement issued within the last 6 months.
The SWIFT/BIC code is an identification code that can be recognised by it’s format, usually the first four digits reflect the bank name, the fifth and sixth digits represent the country and the seventh and eighth digits represent the city (this is not always represented by letters).
An example is Lloyds Bank in London would be LOYDGB2L – Lloyds Bank, UK, London.
You may see three more digits following your SWIFT/BIC code, this could be numbers, letters or XXX, this represents the branch of the Bank.
